Born a Knight of the Astralis, he is among a small number of individuals that were blessed at birth to carry the weight - and honour - of being chosen to protect and guard the Astralis against those who would seek to harm them.
As a Hauntedgrove is a part of an Element born from the dying song of a Planet that has long been lost to space dust. It's said the first Hauntedgrove was created from the Planet's debris landing on a nearby moon, where surviving Nature Spirits on the debris were able to take root and grow anew. The Hauntedgroves carry the memory of this destroyed world; of the pain and sorrow of all those who lived and died upon it.
Growing atop his head he has several branches that grow and twist like horns. They cast a shadow that others may find frightening.
The past and purpose of a Knight of Astralis is shrouded in secrecy, shared only with those who have need to know. Secrets are secrets for a reason, and trust is not so simple. For a Knight, those who ask too many questions of them are often viewed with a healthy suspicion - for who needs to know their secrets, except those who would use them for ill?
As a Knight of Astralis they are fully immune to Shade Corruption. While the Shades are tolerated for the moment, they are not truly seen as Allies by the Astralis - the Shades are corrupted beings, and even those of the Astralis know that their bloodlust and insanity will eventually lead them to kill or corrupt all life. So long as the Shades are focused on the Dimensions, the Astralis-born can focus on curtailing other threats first.
Every being born in the Astralis has a "Deity of Influence", which varies depending on two factors; what planet system they're born in, and what their Divine Dream* is (if they're given one). Who their Deity is affects their Divine Aspect, a singular power/blessing they receive.
It should be noted if someone has the Divine Aspect of a fallen Astralis God they are seen as "memory-blessed", for it's the memory of that Divinity that has chosen them. Whereas when someone has the Divine Aspect of a corrupt Astralis God (a Shade, or former Shade) they are viewed as "sorrow-blessed", for everything that Divinity was is gone now.
Being memory- or sorrow- blessed is not a negative. Merely just a character trait.
All of those who hail from the Astralis have the power to Plane-Shift, an ability which allows for them to freely step into the spaces inbetween the Dimensions. These in between Planes are full of endless possibilities, but are mainly used as a safe haven for those from the Astralis and as a stop-gap barrier against future possible Invaders. When the Plane-Shift ability is used in certain areas (like the Rekanshu) it can grant access into city-like areas that belong to the Astralis, or when used in less defined areas it can simply open a way to a safe place to sleep.
Plane-Shifting is tied to the individual, and cannot be used to side-along teleport someone else along with them. When an Astralis-born uses Plane-Shift they can only be followed by those who can also Plane-Shift. They cannot be followed or tracked by those who cannot Plane-Shift. (They cannot be Scryed upon while on other reality Planes.)
Being Astralis-born means they do not live in an Outrealm. Culturally it is seen as taboo to live in a realm/world beyond the one that they belong to, as it's too reminiscent of what the Invaders did to their home. Regardless of whether they're invited/welcome to enter into an Outrealm, an Astralis-born will refuse to do so out of a fear of possibly leading danger back to their world of origin. Instead they live in the Plane-Shift areas.
Astralis Kats likely do not identify themselves as being from the Astralis to those unaware of the Astralis' existence, just because it's complicated and potentially dangerous to do so. Identifying as a "Mix" or a lesser-known Element from an allied Dimension is easy to do.
Astralis Kats are only compatible with other Astralis-born, Awakened WoRs, Raiders, Central Dimensionals, Power Dimensionals, Belief Dimensionals, Plague Dimensionals, Abyss Dimensionals, and some Wish Dimensionals (Raveen Kats only, excluding Idols).
[Certain Powers, Magics and Character Story are currently Story Locked for the Knights of Astralis. While some things are listed in their notes, explanations of what they do is not currently relevant. In the future if these things need to be revealed then their notes will be expanded upon.]
