If not for the help of the Taekyri his Yearmates would've died to the cold, as he could not keep them warm (his fur does not give off warmth). They were blessed to withstand the cold, but he was not - because he didn't need those gifts, having been born with them already. The Taekyri took the WoRs in, raising them as their own.

The Taekyri were a wandering nomadic species. They believed that the cold was not something to be survived, but to be endured. That the cold was the spirit of Selarias moving on her hunt, and those that died in the blizzards were seen as accepted offerings to her. The Huntress, Selarias, was the spirit of the winter covering the world. Some Taekyri told stories of seeing her kill in the blizzards, of watching as the ice and snow devoured those lost to the cold.

For two years the WoRs lived upon this world. They were taught how to hunt and survive, and lived among the Taekyri peacefully.

During one of his own solo hunting adventures he had his prey turn on him, and in a surprising show of strength, the large beast had flung him a great distance - he crashed into rocks and ice, and split large sections of his body open. The wounds froze in the cold, and his Elemental Mutation came alive to turn the shredded flesh into smooth solid ice. They're now a permanent fixture on his body, the icy sheen of his cheek and side hinting at the horror of what his injuries could have been.

His Elemental Mutation shows up not only in his Freezing Healing, but also in the ice-spikes that grow from his tail, and the ice along his back. His fangs are also made of ice.

After two years on the ice world, he and his yearmates were brought back to the Inner Dimension. Since then, they've been wandering, seeking a home and looking for something new.

He has had an IriKan present in his mind since birth. It has a gentle feminine voice, and has softly talked to him throughout his life. He can cause her to manifest physically when he's in a heightened emotional state (extreme fear, anger, or sorrow).
